Buyer protection

Every payment runs through licensed escrow, on every plan, at no cost to buyers. Here is exactly what that means and how a dispute works.

What stands behind every sale

✓Records on file · the seller uploads each record for your due diligence and attests it is genuine; signed-in buyers can open every one
✓An identity-verified seller · the seller's identity was verified before the listing became visible
✓Licensed escrow · your payment is held by a licensed escrow provider until you confirm handoff
✓A documented record · messages, records, and confirmation dates are logged, so a dispute has a documented record

How money moves

01
You pay the escrow provider

Card or bank transfer, straight to the escrow provider. The seller sees the payment is secured, never your card or bank details.

02
Escrow holds until handoff

A licensed third-party escrow provider holds your payment until you confirm handoff. Everybarn never touches it.

03
Release, or dispute

The escrow provider releases payment to the seller after you confirm handoff. You have 72 hours to raise a dispute with them first.

Paying outside escrow means no escrow provider ever holds your money. That's not fine print, it's the mechanism.

What escrow can't do

✕Payments outside escrow · wire, gift card, or app payments to the seller directly, no exceptions
✕Change of mind · the animal is as described and healthy; you can rehome through a listing of your own instead
✕Conditions arising after handoff · confirmed by vet records to have developed post-placement

Need to open a dispute?

Raise it with the escrow provider, which decides. Message support and a human sends them the record, 24/7.
